Corned beef appears to be the latest food affected by Australia's rampant crisis after one shopper spotted the canned good on sale for $9.05 at Woolworth's.   

Paniora Nukunuku, who is originally from but lives in , spotted the price hike on the 340g tin of Hamper Regular Corn Beef last week.

To add insult to injury, the tin was also marked with a 'low price label' meaning the supermarket was highlighting it as costing less than normal. 

The youth worker first complained of the price in March 2022 - when it cost $8.20.

But fourteen months later it increased by more than 10 per cent, with him sharing his shock in a video.

Many were quick to comment that fresh beef is the same price or cheaper.

'For that price it's almost cheaper to buy fresh meat,' one person wrote on Paniora's TIkTok video.

'Corned beef was made for servicekomputerpanggilantangerang.com people in poverty, how the tables have turned,' added another.

'We need to abolish the duopoly of supermarkets in Australia,' wrote a third.

'Spam is $8 in the small wee country town that I live in,' said another.

'I guess it's time to grow my own food,' joked one person.

'Has the audacity to say low price,' added another.

It comes after shoppers discovered chips have also been affected by the rising prices across Australia, after a bag surged in price to $8.50.

'You know inflation has hit hard when a bag of chip is no $8.50,' she said of the 380g bag.

'Don't worry about it, I'll just go without,' she added.

Many other were shocked by the price too, saying treat food had become unaffordable.

'Inflation is going to make me healthy,' one person replied to her TikTok video.

'Two blocks of chocolate were on sale for $10 my heart dropped. Usually they'd be on sale two for $5,' said another.

It comes as another Aussie discovered that Doritos were also soaring in price. 

Kay Calamatta, jasa instal windows from the Gold Coast, said that she was shocked to find a $280 box of Doritos on sale for $8.90

'Grocery prices are getting out of control,' she said in a video.

'Does anyone remember when chips use to be $5 a box.

Many said that cheese, dishwasher tablets, and Pepsi and chocolate have all surged in price too.

It comes as customers were left outraged after noticing a popular jar of Cottee's jam has disappeared from shelves with fears it will be replaced with a smaller size for the same price.
